Grate-fired combustion systems for RDF & Biomass
Whether power plants solely for generation of electricity, industrial power plants for steam/electricity generation, Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Europe firing systems are used in nearly all fields of energy conversion and are always optimally geared to the specified requirements.
For domestic and municipal waste, industrial refuse, standby fuels, residual substances disposal and all types of biomass, particular concepts and steps are needed for combustion which places less of a burden on the environment. Use of grate systems - which have proved their worth over a long period - together with modern boiler concepts ensure that the varying residues are thermally recovered in a dependable way.
Along with the burn-off grates needed in coal-fired utility steam generators, Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Europe also relies on other grate technologies for utilizing thermal energy. This is where use is made, in particular, of moving grate and roller grate technologies.
The heat values determine whether air-cooled or water-cooled moving grate stokers or even roller grates are used with the required and patented stoker links. The stoker system is basically made up of the feeder, grate system incl. cooled/non-cooled stoker links, primary air distribution, grate de-slagging/grate ash removal, furnace configuration including secondary air distribution, burn-out area configuration together with firing system optimization and firing control system.
