Construction / Commissioning
Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Europe (MHPS Europe) has a lengthy track record and extensive expertise in design and engineering. Installation covers a wide range from basic engineering (setting up the budget and basic concept planning) through to the smooth handling of matters on the site including logistics as well as planning personnel requirements and crane deployment (detail concept planning). Our qualified site managers undertake the monitoring and coordination of all aspects of installation throughout the world.
Between 100-120 site managers and specialists are employed on the spot to coordinate and monitor the construction of a power train (utility steam generator, environmental engineering, turbine/generator, off-site facilities). This ensures that top quality is maintained on the site.
An operating department in its own right then sees to the equipment being placed into service. This firstly involves all components – from electrical engineering and instrumentation & control through to the mechanical system – being examined. Subsequently all equipment units and complete systems are subjected to a test run ("cold placing into service"). Following operational testing, MHPS Europe commissioning staff carry through the required process tests ("hot placing into service"). The next stage sees plant and components being tested and optimized in keeping with design specifications ("process placing into service").
Then the plant – as contractually laid down - is switched to test operation and after this is handed over to the customer. Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Europe has its own test control department which during the placing into service stage carries out confirmatory measurements so as, in conclusion, to verify the contractually stipulated guarantees in an acceptance inspection test.
MHPS Europe also provides comprehensive service during operations and following retrofits, downtimes and inspections. The services include:
- Plant optimization
- Measuring technology
- Power plant chemistry
- Provision of personnel
